About the event

Like many Southeast countries, Thailand is vulnerable to climate change and is threatened by extreme heat and rising sea levels. To address the growing threat from climate change, Thailand has set targets to reach carbon neutrality by 2050 and reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2065. To fulfil this goal, Thailand is updating its Energy Master plan, with expected increased targets for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency.

In 2023, the industry sector was responsible for 24% of Thailand's CO2 emissions, and together with the agricultural sector, industries are the primary cause behind the growing air pollution problem, with PM2.5 particles engulfing the country for part of the year. The good news is that Renewable Energy Resources in Thailand are vast, and according to IRENA, the country has 3604 GW of Renewable Energy Resources available, which is 73 times more than the installed power capacity. For example, using only 1% of available Solar PV resources in Thailand would cover the country's total power production capacity of 49 GW.

This seminar during the INTERMACH & SUBCON Thailand 2024 will include presentations and discussions on smart energy technology and asset management solutions that can help Thailand's and Asia’s industry sectors reduce their reliance on fossil fuels and transition to more renewable energy-based energy systems. Join us and meet with the leading energy experts in the field, and learn from their knowledge and experience on how to decarbonize industries in Asia!
