District Heating and cooling has become one of the most important energy infrastructures to achieve systemic efficiency. Carbon emissions can be reduced significantly through integration of clean heating solutions and heat recovery, connection of energy efficient buildings, while also supporting integration of renewable energies in the electricity grid. District Heating supports multiple SDGs and is crucial to achieve NDCs and
ADB’s Central and West Asia Department (CWRD) is supporting the green transformation of district heating into clean heating and cooling system through multiple projects within its region. Through TA 6564-KAZ: Supporting Renewable Technology-Inclusive Heat Supply Legislation, ADB has paved the way for accelerating green transformation of district heating in Kazakhstan.
The objective of the session is to share clean district heating and cooling experiences from economies across the CWRD-region, and present the work undertaken in TA 6564-KAZ: Supporting Renewable Technology-Inclusive Heat Supply Legislation, in particular.
