Energy Storage is a term for systems that capture and store produced energy for later use and is commonly used in energy systems globally. The Energy Storage track include information on technology, best practice, global trends and APUEA activities as well as members and related partners.

Introduction

Being able to capture and store energy for latter use has many benefits. Economically energy can be produced when fuel prizes are low and used when they increase. If it is a windy day electricity can be stored to be used later when there is no wind. Energy can also be stored and used as a safety function in case there is an interruption in other production units.
